How to Store Homemade Pickles for Maximum Freshness
Proper storage of homemade pickles ensures their flavor, texture, and shelf life remain intact. Follow these simple tips to keep your pickles fresh:
1. Store in a Glass Airtight Jar
• Always keep pickles in a clean, dry glass jar with an airtight lid.
• Avoid plastic containers as they can absorb odors and may not be completely airtight.
2. Keep in a Cool, Dry Place
• Store your pickle jar in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
• Heat can cause the oil and spices to lose their potency, affecting the pickle’s taste.
3. Always Use a Dry Spoon
• Moisture is the biggest enemy of pickles! Always use a clean, dry spoon to prevent spoilage.
• Even a small amount of water can cause fungal growth.
4. Keep the Pickles Submerged in Oil
• Ensure that the pickles are completely submerged in oil or brine to prevent oxidation and mold formation.
• If needed, add extra oil to maintain the correct level.
5. Refrigerate for Longer Shelf Life
• If you live in a humid climate or want to store pickles for a long time, refrigeration can help.
• While most traditional pickles stay fresh at room temperature, refrigeration slows down fermentation and extends their shelf life.
6. Check for Freshness Regularly
• A good pickle has a rich aroma and a well-preserved texture.
• If you notice any off smells, mold, or discoloration, it may be time to discard the batch.
By following these tips, you can enjoy the authentic taste of homemade pickles for months! 🥒✨

Frequently Asked Questions
Tried many, but this is the best kaer pickle ever!
Pickle is home made for sure, but the size of kaer is little bigger due to which there are seeds which are little harder for me to eat, smaller sizer kaers are perfect.
Consider it a suggestion to only use smaller size instead of bigger. Though the pickle in terms of balance is very good.
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback ma'am.
I checked the pickle and you are right there are kaer of bigger sizes. But you got the somewhat fresher lot which needs to be aged for little more time as we dont use vinegar or chemical to make the aging process faster.
We try to make the balance of sale and making of pickles but sometimes it is not possible to wait and age pickles.

Perfect balance of tanginess and spice. Goes well with everything!
Bahut hi different taste hai, ekdum traditional Rajasthani achar jaisa.
Wood-pressed oil really enhances the flavor. I can literally smell the oil in a good way. Loved it!
